2011 CUTC Summer Meeting

Portland is a great city to visit, especially in mid-June when the weather is charactistically warm and dry. We have scheduled the summer meeting so that you have the opportunity to arrive early and enjoy one of the region's most exciting celebrations: the annual Portland Rose Festival. This is a 3-week event culminating with the weekend of June 10-12 when the following are held:

  • Portland Rose Society 122nd Annual Spring Rose Show
  • Rose Cup Races (at Portland International Raceway)
  • Dragon Boat Racing (Willamette River)
  • Grand Floral Parade (Saturday, June 11th)

In addition, there are numerous destinations in and around the city. A few favorites include:

  • Multnomah Falls (about 20 miles east of downtown)
  • Mt. Hood, including Timerline Lodge, the city of Hood River and nearby farms (about 60 miles east of downtown)
  • Mt. St. Helens (about 2 hours north of downtown)
  • Wine Country (about 30-45 minutes west and southwest)
  • Oregon Coast (about 75 miles west of downtown)
  • Touring local breweries and brewpubs (various locations, including many in downtown)

Plus, tax-free shopping!
